Learning Objectives:
  • To plan your own Google doodle based on the 2012 Olympic Games

 Task:

Produce a plan designing your own Google doodle based on the 2012 Olympics in London.
You will need pencils, colouring pencils and paper to produce a plan
  • Turn a blank piece of paper to Landscape
  • In the centre draw the letters to spell GOOGLE

  • Around the outside write down key things about the Olympics
    • buildings
    • types of sports
    • places of interest in London
  • Make a list of the types of images you could use to represent
    • You may use the Internet or books in the LRC to research images
  • Write down which colours you will use and why?
    • e.g. brown to represent Big Ben, red for a London Bus

  • Describe your layout and design.
    • which pictures will go where
    • style of the lettering
    • foreground and background
When you have finished ask the person next to you to check your work


At the end of the lesson: 
  • Have a look to see what others have created.
  • Provide positive comments about what is good about the design
  • Provide a positive comments about what could be improved.
